Addressing My Mistake… – EyeSpark Weekly (September 25, 2026)

Hey guys… I am really sorry… while doing some admin stuff I found that I made a terrible mistake in one of my previous Weeklies, and I feel like I have to address it… Two weeks ago I wrote a Weekly all about how it was the 26th Weekly, marking half a year since I started them, but as it turns out it actually wasn't the 26th… it was the 27th. 😱 I am deeply ashamed of this mistake… eh not really actually, but I am just a little bit embarrassed. This happened because I kept track of it in the tags list, but it seems I must have skipped one by accident. Whatever, it's no big deal!

This was a pretty good week, actually! I wrote two posts I am quite proud of, both reviews coincidentally, and I've been cooking up some ideas for future posts! The main one will hopefully be out by tomorrow, or at least the day after.

I've still been playing Mario Kart Wii, I am now trying to unlock Dry Bowser by getting a star rating on all 150cc cups, but I am still missing half of them (Flower, Special, Shell, and Leaf specifically). I've also returned to my 3DS and have actually been playing quite a bit of Mario Kart DS there, which I surprisingly have barely played before! This game is much harder to me than 8 or 7, and even Wii, I had to start fully from 50cc and go up from there, but I really like it now that I am more used to it! I still have to beat all cups in 150cc (I'm missing the Special, Leaf, and Lightning cups) and of course from there I unlock mirror mode which I am absolutely dreading, but it's actually quite fun! I still fail kinda often, but that's okay, and I've really enjoyed mission mode and especially battle mode! I plan on writing about it sometime soon, to be honest.

The rest of the week has been fairly typical, but on Monday I went on a walk through our Jardín Botánico (National Botanical Garden) with my dad for the first time in months, which was very nice! I walked quite a bit, and I took some nice photos that I'll leave at the end of this update.

Now onto what I've watched! Quite a lot of good stuff this time:

As I've shared a bunch of times before, I love Second Wind and especially their special videos, and I really enjoyed Yahtzee and Marty's trivia competition! I love all trivia, even if I don't actually know much about Dark Souls or Sonic, and also I kinda see this as a but of a rematch to their previous (member-exclusive) trivia quiz.

The Map Men made an amazing new episode about the issues of making a world map of languages. This is one of those things I already knew, but I still like seeing a good video about!

Double Take by Dynamo seem to be releasing their videos weekly! They released one about how stop signs aren't as effective as they seem, which I had no idea about and found very interesting, and I'm very excited to see that they'll be uploading so quickly.

I randomly got suggested this video about America's Got Talent's buzzer and lighting system by Dallas Taylor, who I didn't know about but apparently mostly makes videos on sound, which I find quite fun! I love seeing behind the scenes of things, and it's especially cool about things that are this big that you usually never see behind the scenes of. I absolutely loved it, and I saw some more of his videos and they're great too!

The last video I have for this week is one that makes me suspicious that YouTube are in my walls, an hour-long video essay about Mario Kart DS that came out literally today by FryingPanSam. Jokes aside, this really came out at the perfect time for me, and I really enjoyed it, both for the essay itself and the very fun editing! Minus points for not knowing that you can inflate balloons in battle mode by holding down select, though /s

Lastly, some miscellaneous stuff! Apparently Sophie Adenot, an astronaut for the European Space Agency, brought in a Pikachu plushie to the International Space Station with them, which I find absolutely adorable! Especially as it was for an official collaboration between the ESA and The Pokémon Company, so that's nice.

After the Nintendo Direct two weeks ago I've been seeing a lot of cute Metroid art, especially of Samus's new look! I found two cute meme drawings of Samus by hoshizoralone again, and this silly one with Kirby by IAHFY. I also love these drawings of Chell by ToastyGhostey, one of them even has a Freeman in it! Also I am totally normal about Erika Ishii dressed like Ada Wong.

And that's it! This was a good week, and I'm actually quite hopeful the next one will also be good for me, and I hope it is for you too!
