Another Post With Heather – EyeSpark Weekly (July 31, 2026)
It has been a bit of a tough few days for me, so I haven't written anything this week, but fortunately I still have some stuff to share for this weekly update, including a few things I've done!
I've uploaded three videos on my main YouTube channel this week! Two were simply Geometry Dash videos of some old levels (Kinetic and Milk Party Hype), but I also made a compilation from the newest Game Changer episode, and I am quite proud of it! (And yes, the episode was great, I'll write the proper review on/after Monday).
Also although I haven't written anything fully, I have been building up some ideas, and I've done some rough drafts of what I can write about this week! I usually don't do this, but I've noticed it's really helped me in this case.
Anyways, not much more to say, so let me go onto my recommendations!
For the usuals, I said earlier that I loved the new Game Changer episode, but I also really enjoyed Yahtzee's Semi Ramblomatic comparing Quake 1 and Duke Nukem 3D, Odyssey Central's video on mistakes in the Minecraft Essential Handbook, and Pretzel's video on weird spots in HL2's Nova Prospekt (which I fortunately caught on time!).
David Marquette, who previously made a great video on the Game Changer Season 7 ARG, made a video about Play It By Ear, a show Dropout has seemingly abandoned. Unlike the other Game Changer spin-offs this one didn't really click for me, and I think this video explains why quite well, and I'm glad someone has talked about it!
From LambdaGen I found that someone (Monny / Bonnie Studios) managed to run the original Half-Life natively on an original PlayStation! This is something I never thought would be possible, so even if it's a bit janky I find it incredible!
This is a video that's over a year old, but I only found it now and I found it interesting enough to share, so I'm going to! Chris Spargo made a video about why barcodes in books are labelled as coming from "Bookland", and this is one of those facts that is so specific that I never would've thought of, and yet I find it so interesting. It also made me look into how decypher barcodes in general lol
For the games I've played, I've kept playing Geometry Dash as I said earlier, as well as Bit City (which I might write about tomorrow), but I've also been playing some old flash games again, specifically ones that I've found around my downloads folder while I was cleaning it.
And for some art, I found a couple of very cute pieces!
I love this piece of a studying knight by SimzArt, whose work at might belong in a "The Usuals" category for art at this point.
Caitlin Rose Boyle, an artist I've followed for a while, has started to draw a lot of Heather/Cheryl from Silent Hill 3, which makes me very happy as she's one of my favourite video game protagonists ever. She's made two drawings so far.
I actually tried to draw Heather back in December 2024. I did it to practice using a reference grid, and also as a challenge to only use 7B graphite. It's based on the European Silent Hill 3 cover art, and I'm still quite proud of it, so I decided to dredge it up and share it here!
By the way, I said "I think I replicated the black too well…" because the graphite was staining the opposite page of the notebook lmao
And that's it! (Not quoting Heather again, that's enough. /lh) Again, this has been a bit of a slow week, but I have a lot of stuff I've been building up, and I'm also glad I took the opportunity to dredge up something from my archives! It's always fun.
Have a nice week!
