I Forgot To Talk About Velcro – EyeSpark Weekly (May 29, 2026)
I've gotten into full prep mode for the upcoming secret thing, which I was originally planning on directly revealing today, but I decided not to, as I don't know when I'll get to write about it here. I did drop a hint on my previous update, though. Anyways, that's taken a lot of my time, so this might be a smaller update again, but whatever! (Edit: No it isn't LOL)
The personal thing I want to share today is that I did order some stuff from DFTBA recently, which included LoadingReadyRun's Moonbase Mission Patches! They released these around 3 years ago when they announced they were moving to Moonbase MkVI, and some are still available, even after moving to DFTBA, so I decided to get some! They are very nice, and I really wanna put them in stuff, though I don't know exactly where yet. They do have Velcro, but I don't have much stuff with it.
For "the usuals", I really enjoyed xkcd's new What If? video about dropping a bowling ball on the Mariana Trench, which is probably his least catastrophic video yet. I really love JowensYT's dives on Epic Rap Battles of History, and he released one about probably one of the most forgotten battles, Billy Mays vs Ben Franklin. Lastly, I loved Yahtzee's review of Mina the Hollower by Yacht Club Games (makers of Shovel Knight), which I've been quite excited for! It just came out today, so I haven't played it yet, but I'm super excited to.
Onto the more unique stuff, the biggest news for me this week is that Bill Wurtz released a new song and music video!! (I actually caught the single release a few hours before the video did, so that's silly). Bill Wurtz is one of my favourite people on YouTube, he's made some of my favourite videos ever, and it's always a treat for me when he uploads stuff. Unfortunately, his last video was over 3 years ago, but similar to his original return after a hiatus in 2021 (which is my favourite song and music video of his, btw), he suddenly released a very good new song!
With the return of Game Changer with Season 8, Dropout have also brought back their behind the scenes videos! I always love watching these, and they seem to be going into more detail this season, which I really appreciate. They've even been uploading additional clips to their YouTube channels!
I found a this video about some side stories in Return of the Obra Dinn by Rkadinabout. It is one of my favourite games of all time, so I always enjoy a good video about it, and I didn't know about half of these stories before watching this video! This is another of those games I am always finding more details about.
Lastly, even though I finished watching all of Taskmaster UK (I loved this week's episode btw), I still need more, so I have finally started watching Taskmaster New Zealand! I started with Series 2 (is it season now?), both because it's a fan-favourite, and also to mirror how I started watching Taskmaster in general from UK Series 2, and I just finished watching it today, and I loved it. It has a fantastic cast, probably one of my favourites ever, and I love the more unique Taskmaster and assistant dynamic between Jeremy and Paul. Also that house (or ranch) is magnificent, and David is probably my favourite contestant ever now.
Before fully signing off, I do actually have some art to share this time! I guess that's what happens when you actively seek it out more.

And that's about it! I haven't been playing many video games this week, and when I have it's mostly just Minecraft Skyblock, but I will hopefully be playing more stuff soon (including Mina the Hollower).
I'll go back to preparing for the upcoming thing now. Because of it I might not have an update for next week, but I will hopefully still have stuff to share about it — if not during, then definitely once it is done!
