The Lost PS3 Minecraft Achievements (Release – DLC 3)
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I recently brought over my sister's PlayStation 3 from my dad's house to mine, and so I have been using it more often (though not as much as I want to since the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi aren't working). I have gotten some more games for it recently, but the only games that were actually mine before this were Minecraft and Minecraft: Story Mode.
I failed to mention this when I talked about my Minecraft anniversary, but I actually played it on the PS3 before I got Pocket Edition for myself, though in my mind I never really considered that I fully owned the game as it was still my sister's console, but anyways.
I was looking through the game and I remembered that this version did have achievements, and while looking through them I noticed that there are actually quite a few that aren't in the Java edition of the game, before and after the "advancement" redo in 2018.
On the PS3 I have 51 achievements/trophies in Minecraft. I looked it up and that is 29 achievements from the standard release, and 22 more from the first three DLC Expansion packs. There are 43 more achievements from the next expansions, adding to 94 in total, but I won't look at those today.

26 of the 29 original trophies are taken from the original Java achievements, though two of them have been modified slightly.
The achievement for getting to the Nether in Java was renamed from "We Need To Go Deeper" to "Into The Nether" in PS3, and the On A Rail achievement required travelling 1km (1,000 blocks) by rail in Java, but only requires 500 in PS3.
The three fully new achievements that aren't in Java are:
- Leader Of The Pack: Befriend five wolves.
- MOAR Tools: Construct one type of each tool (one pickaxe, one spade, one axe and one hoe).
- Dispense With This: Construct a dispenser.
I feel like these achievements actually work very well! The Leader Of The Pack has sort of been replaced by a newer advancement called "The Whole Pack" which requires taming all nine unique wolf variants, so perhaps that one would be a bit redundant. Aside from that, there are no achievements for crafting a dispenser or even a shovel, so those are neat!

Expansion Pack 1 brought in eight achievements, five of which were taken from Java. Of these only Adventuring Time was changed, which now only requires travelling to 17 of 40 biomes, which I assume was due to the much smaller world size making all biomes impossible.
The three unique achievements from this pack are:
- Pork Chop: Cook and eat a pork chop.
- Passing the Time: Play for 100 days.
- Archer: Kill a creeper with Arrows.
In comparison to the previous ones, these achievements do feel a tad bit more generic, aside from Passing The Time which I actually think is an extremely interesting idea! Though it might ruin those 100% Achievement speedruns…

Next up are the seven from Expansion Pack 2, and they are all completely unique achievements that have never been in Java edition!
- The Haggler: Mine or purchase 30 Emeralds.
- Pot Planter: Craft and place a Flower Pot.
- It's a Sign!: Craft and place a Sign.
- Iron Belly: Stop starvation using Rotten Flesh.
- Have a Shearful Day: Use Shears to obtain wool from a Sheep.
- Rainbow Collection: Gather all 16 colours of Wool.
- Stayin' Frosty: Swim in lava while having the Fire Resistance effect.
Similar to the previous one, I do feel like some of these are redundant or not that interesting, but I am a big fan of Iron Belly, Stayin' Frosty, and especially Rainbow Collection, as I love the achievements given for collecting stuff.

And lastly there's Expansion Pack 3. This one is interesting as it did feature seven completely unique achievements for the time, but two of them have been added to Java, one of which with the exact same name.
The Body Guard trophy is given for creating an Iron Golem, just like the Java advancement "Hired Help". And the Zombie Doctor achievement is also in Java under the exact same name, and it is given for curing a Zombie Villager, though in Java it does give the exact details as to how to do it.
As for the five completely unique trophies, they are:
- Chestful of Cobblestone: Mine 1,728 Cobblestone and place it in a chest.
- Renewable Energy: Smelt Wood Trunks using Charcoal to make more Charcoal.
- Music to my Ears: Play a music disc in a Jukebox.
- Iron Man: Wear a full suit of Iron Armour.
- Lion Tamer: Tame an Ocelot.
As opposed to the previous two DLCs, I actually like all of the achievements in this one!
Admittedly Lion Tamer is the least necessary, as Ocelots don't turn into cats when tamed anymore, and they aren't even needed for The Parrots and the Bats achievement for taming all animals, but regardless.
Music to my Ears is pretty fun as it was the only achievement to use the Jukebox for a while, Iron Man is a nice trophy to have for getting full iron armour, and Renewable Energy is just funny so I like it.
And, of course, Chestful of Cobblestone is an absolutely insane challenge, and yet one that feels very possible and might even be somewhat fun to do in a zen kind of way.

And that's it for today! I might look back on the achievements for Expansion Packs 4–10 later on, but I wanted to check these out now since these are the ones I have access to currently! (And this post is already super long LOL)
As I've talked about time and time again, I am a really big fan of achievements in video games, and even if these aren't all bangers, I just really like it when games have a lot of variety to them!
