Have A Micro – EyeSpark Weekly (September 4, 2026)

This has been a bit of an odd week for me, there have been some good things and some not-so-good things, but honestly I don't have that much to talk about here.

I am quite happy with the two posts I wrote this week about my FTO progress and IDFB 1's 10th anniversary, I like writing more casual posts like these. You can also definitely expect the Game Changer S8Ep8 and Portal: Alive & Kicking reviews sometime soon (I started writing the former yesterday but I couldn't finish it in time). I haven't really been working on anything else, though.

I've still been playing games, after Portal: Alive & Kicking I've been playing quite a bit of Portal again, and I've been playing quite a bit of old mobile games again too! Specifically Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, and especially Flight Control HD, where I landed over 100 planes in one game for my first time ever! I'll share an image of that high score at the bottom of this post. Also tomorrow is another LambdaGeneration Gamenight, and we're playing the original Day of Defeat which I've never played before, so I am curious about that!

For the header image, since I guess this is a shorter post than usual, have a Mecha Micro for a micro post! The alternate skin for the Profit Bird in Jetpack Joyride based on a character from my third-favourite Halfbrick game, Fish Out of Water! Since I also played that a bit more this week.

Now onto the media!

Taskmaster UK Series 22 started yesterday and it had an incredible first episode! I want to highlight Taskmaster specifically, though, as tomorrow they're holding a live stream where they're fundraising money for Great Osmond Street Hospital Charity, with a bunch of guests doing a lot of Taskmastery things! Here's the link to the stream, which starts tomorrow at 16:00 UTC. I think I'll also make a separate post about this tomorrow just to highlight it, similar to what I do with Desert Bus.

Speaking of subathons, I completely forgot to mention LoadingReadyRun's 2026 Subathon last time? I have no idea how, as it's the main thing I watched all week; I guess I did so much it just became standard at that point. The VODs aren't up yet as of writing, but the fantastic LoadingReadyLive episode for the finale of it is!

Jeepy Released the Half-Life Oddities episode on Residue Processing, which is a chapter I actually really like despite many people not doing so, though I understand why. I'm still a bit sad at the lack of Half-Life: Source mentions, this chapter in particularly is notoriously buggy, actually literally almost unplayable at some point.

Hank Green made a sorta sequel to his Jupiter Moons video, where he talks about four of Saturn's Moons! It's a much longer video, as for most of it he talks with Sarah Hörst, astronomer and lead investigator of the Dragonfly mission which will hopefully reach Titan one day, and I loved that too!

Lastly, this is probably the most random video I've ever shared, but I find it way too fun not to share. It's a video by Shaun Hermes about when it is and isn't appropriate to wear an inflatable duck. I think it speaks for itself :)

I have just two bits of art I saw over the week that I want to share, both of Nintendo stuff! This adorable Splatoon 3 fan art by sterling/pencilcomics (I love Big Man so much especially btw omg), and this drawing of Link and Dragon Zelda by VvMORIvV shared on r/ImaginaryWeather (which I just discovered). They're both adorable!

Not all weeks are winners, but I hope you've had a good one at least! I like to think that even when they're not the best, at least we still have the things we enjoy to cheer us up.
