Karl Is In London!

LET US COMMENCE FORTH - BRI'ISH‽

So as I've been teasing in some of my latest posts, I've been planning a trip out of my country for the first time in about 2 years! And it's a trip to a place that I've wanted to go for years and finally can! London!

It is one of my favourite cities in the world to learn about, and so it's one I've wanted to visit for a while. Not only is one of my best friends from it, but one of my favourite series on YouTube is all about it, which is Jay Foreman's Unfinished London (who I really like btw! Absolutely recommend checking out his channel), and I've learned a lot about the city from his videos. In general I also just find it cool to have a city that has such deep history, there's little bits of history in every corner!

Anyways, as for the trip itself, we flew from Santo Domingo into New York at JFK, and from there over to Heathrow! The first flight was pretty easy, it was just a bit over 4 hours and it didn't change time zones. However, the second flight over to London itself was a bit rougher, since it was a (mostly) night flight and with a +5 time zone change.

Fortunately everything went well, we arrived at 10 AM BST, took the underground, even went to a mall, and I thought that I hadn't been affected by jet lag! … that is until jet lag bitch slapped me and made me feel extremely sleepy at just 3 PM. Fortunately, though, I did not succumb to sleep, and I did stay up enough to be able to have some dinner (pretty good pizza!) and also write this blog!

Anyways, I really need to sleep now (in the last 34 hours I've only slept like 4), but I do wanna share just a few more things!

Firstly, JFK airport's Delta lounge was filled with extremely beautiful works of art, including four on the seasons that actually changed depending on the angle! Made by Ewan David Eason, which really caught my eye!

And secondly, during the first flight I watched the film 10 Things I Hate About You, and I liked it quite a lot! It's honestly been the first movie I've seen since April, and so I logged it onto my Letterboxd but this time with a more jokey review instead of my usual (more analytical) ones, since I didn't really have much energy at the time.

It is definitely a film that I'd love to talk about, once I have more energy firstly, but also I don't really know wether to talk about it here now with my blog, or purely leave it for my Letterboxd. I guess I'll settle my mind on it later, but regardless, I am very glad I got to watch it and I really enjoyed it!

Anyways, I'm super excited for the rest of the trip! I am staying here until August 1, so I'll definitely have a lot of fun things to write about during the trip! And I am extremely excited for what I can do next!
