Holiday Happenings! (2025)

Happy Holidays, everyone!

The Christmas chests for Minecraft. The single chests are red and gold, while double chests are green, white, and red.

This entry is a bit all over the place, but that's okay! I just have a few things to show you.

First, you might remember in Halloween I talked about how I missed every single Halloween event in Minecraft until this year. Well, Minecraft also has a pretty famous Christmas event that I have also never seen personally, where the chests change to presents! However, this year I finally logged into the game on time and saw them for myself!

They're super pretty, and although they might clash a bit with certain builds, I think they look amazing in most places and give a lot of colourful flair! Here is a screenshot from one of my friends' bases during this time, I love the green.

Second, as I've talked about before, I've been wanting to upload more Geometry Dash videos on my YouTube channel, and for Christmas I decided to upload a level I am oddly nostalgic for.

The level is Final Smash by DepisH16, which was the daily level for Christmas 2018, seven years ago. This level has an amazing song, and beautiful decoration that's definitely inspired by RobTop's style, but still with some unique elements to keep it interesting.

This level is pretty simple, so it feels a little odd that it's somehow been in my mind since I played it, but it was around the time that I did play daily levels frequently, it is a very pretty level, and that was also a generally good Christmas for me! So it has some nostalgic value for me because of that. :)

Third, on the topic of Geometry Dash — and this is something I meant to talk about separately — I opened the Steam version of the game to get the thumbnail for the video, and I completely forgot that RobTop added all of the achievements for the Steam version of GD after its original release during 1.9.

What this means is that when I booted up the game I suddenly got 216 new achievements simultaneously, which took about 7 minutes to all display as notifications. I meant to record this on its own, but I forgot, so the screen recording does miss the first three I got (for Geometrical Dominator), but it captured the rest of them.

The game used to have 120 achievements (of which I had 119), and now that's gone up to 547 total. Although I'll sort of miss having just the 1.9 achievements and my 99.2% completion rate, this is a pretty welcome change overall!

But also it's just funny ehehehe, I uploaded it just for fun.

And that's it! I just wanted to share all of these small things that weren't big enough for full blog posts, and sort of fit the Christmas spirit for me :) (Thanks Rob for gifting me 216 'chievos).

I do have something very exciting that I've been working on that I'll probably show you tomorrow! But this is all I have for today. Have a wonderful day!
