Hello everybody! A bit of a short entry today, but I wanna shoutout something that I should have brought up a few days ago, which I didn't think about mentioning here at first, but ultimately I feel like I should.

Last Friday was the start of the 19th annual Desert Bus for Hope subathon! A livestream where some people play "the worst video game of all time" for Child's Play charity, which provides toys and games for hospitalized children all over the world, and they play the game for as long as people donate!

As of writing they just raised over US$340,000 in just these last 75 hours, and they recently reached $12,000,000 total across the event's lifetime.

This event was started in 2007 by LoadingReadyRun, one of my favourite online comedy groups, who have been around for over 20 years. I've known about them for over a decade from their shorts with NimbleBit, but I became a much more avid watcher in 2021, and have somewhat followed this event since 2022, but I made my first donation last year.

I just wanted to give a shoutout to the event! Because of Desert Bus this time of year always makes me very happy, especially now when I feel like there's not as much positivity in the internet anymore. The livestream shines as a beacon of hope for me, and many other people, and I love having a part — even a very small one, supporting from the sidelines — in such a kind and caring community.

Please check them out at https://desertbus.org/! They are streaming on Twitch, and upload clips of the entire stream on their YouTube channel.

P.S: This year premiered a new look for the overlay which I really love! Especially the font. They've always had a fantastic design.
