Dropout's Crowd Control - First Impressions

The cover for Crowd Control in dropout.tv. Host Jacquis Neal is pointing at his red shirt saying "Ask about my stand-up set" in front of a brick background.

A few days ago Dropout finally premiered their newest series, called Crowd Control! Based off a Game Changer episode of the same name.

The show, hosted by Jacquis Neal, features three stand-up comedians whose material is the audience itself. This first episode featured Bob The Drag Queen, Leah Rudick, and Brennan Lee Mulligan!

The specific format of this show is slightly changed from the original Game Changer episode. It is still the three comedians going one at a time, but in the stealth pilot each of them usually only spent time with one person at a time, and had multiple goes per round. This time each comedian only has one go per round, but they get much more time and have the opportunity to do multiple people.

Round 1 is a more normal stand-up set, where the comedians mostly just go based off looks. In Round 2 most people "unsheathe" and reveal a black shirt with a simple description, tempting the comedians to ask what they're about. In Round 3 the "red flags" unsheathe, who have spicier descriptions and are wearing red, these are riskier but usually lead to funnier material. And lastly, in Round 4 there is a completely new addition to the show, where each comedian has a restriction placed on them that makes it harder for them but usually leads to more laughs.

And that's that! This first episode was hilarious, and I absolutely loved the chemistry between literally everybody, Jacquis, the three other comedians, and of course the audience itself! The next episodes will feature a lot of comedians I like, and I am very excited to see even more the following weeks! Also, here I leave one of my favourite bits.
