In Six Triangles
Following my previous project of 25 Squares, Circles, and Stars, I recently had another one where I had to create three works of the same theme using the same type of shape the same number of times.
I could either choose between triangles, perfect squares, and perfect circles, which I could use 4–6 of. Choosing which was a no-brainer. Triangles are by far the most versatile, they're better at tiling, and I can have them in all sort of specific angles, while the other two had to be perfect. I also chose to use six for them — again, because of the versatility.
It took a bit of time to settle on a theme I really liked, originally I was gonna go with something astronomy-themed but that proved rather difficult. Instead, I settled on the theme of playing cards! And so I made three of the four suits using six triangles.

I have a set order for them in my mind, and the first is The Spade! Which ironically was the last one I made, just today (I made the others last night). This one is probably my favourite too, as it took quite a bit of tinkering to make a design I was proud of, but after I got it I really like how it looks!

Second is The Heart! This is the first one I made, and originally I had a different design for it. In the end I made all of the triangles the same size, however in the original the base of the heart would've had triangles twice as big (in length) and the others would be use for the curves on the top, however they ended up being too big, so I went for this design instead!
I am a big fan of how the negative space looks.

The last of the three is The Diamond! This one probably has the simplest design of them all. I tried to find a way I could have six triangles compose the entire diamond, but all attempts of that just looked off, so instead I used some negative space and added a small glint composed of two white triangles!
And that's it! I am extremely proud of all of these three, especially The Spade, and they were extremely fun to sketch and make!
